it’s a blizzard out there
We’re a couple of miles from our hotel now. We got here around 6:15 this evening. We luckily met two really great people at the wedding who were going to the same place (their hotel is next to the airport) and they gave us a ride in their SUV.
I called Hertz this afternoon to see how we could get them to pick up the car, or if I could change the drop-off location. It cost us $108. I’m actually irritated with the rental car company. They knew the situation we were in. The state was under a state of emergency, and we were driving a KIA…it was about as reliable in the snow as our Honda Fit. (No offense to the Fit. I love it. It’s just NOT made for snow!) So, to the Hertz company, I’ll be calling you on Monday or Tuesday.
We are a few hundred yards from the interstate, and you can’t see the road. Occasionally, I can see headlights, but visibility is insane. (I’ll have a roundup of the wedding maybe tomorrow?) There’s roughly 18 inches of snow where we are. Some areas are up to 20. It only started snowing this morning. Scary stuff.
So here we sit in the hotel. We are supposed to head to the airport at 4:30 tomorrow morning and fly out at 6:45 a.m. Think good thoughts. I think we still need them….
Wow! Good luck! Hope the blizzard dies down š
Stay safe! Crazy weather.
That would make me mad about Hertz. That is just ridiculous.
Thanks, you two š We did get out…and I have an entire Hertz story that should make a LOT of people angry! It’s not over!!
