Jamberry. It’s the latest rage in nail fashion. I have friends who have sold Jamberry for a while now, and my friend Mendie is a new Jamberry consultant. She sent me some samples to try out and I decided to test them against my beloved Julep nail polish.
One nail wrap is enough to cover two nails, so I went for an accent nail. You can cut the wrap in half, and then peel from the backing. From there, heat the wrap for a few seconds (I used a hairdryer for about 3 seconds) and apply to the nail. I made sure the wrap was smooth and trimmed the edge where it was hanging over. Then I heated the wrap for 3-5 more seconds (again with my hairdryer) and made sure it was still smooth. The entire process (for a first timer) was maybe two or three minutes.
With my Julep nail polish, I generally don’t need a base or top coat. It can usually last 4 or 5 days without chipping. I happened to have a blue that matched the Jamberry wrap so I went with it.
I did all of this on Saturday night. (The above photo.) And below you can see what my nails looked like on Thursday morning. At my desk, so you know the lighting is amazing. The Jamberry still looks great. Julep was already chipping. (And to be perfectly honest, I had to touch up my right hand on Tuesday because the polish chipped so much.) I’ve done nothing to the Jamberry nails.
I’ve done nothing differently this week. I’ve possibly washed more dishes than usual, and that’s about it. I’m impressed with how the Jamberry wraps have held up. There’s been no peeling or curling up of the wraps. And from what I hear, they can last up to two weeks! Pedicures last even longer.
Look at all of the design possibilities! They have 300 (or so) designs to choose from on their site.
I’m having a Jamberry party right now, and you’re welcome to join the party on Facebook. Mendie has also offered to give away a half sheet of Jamberry (OF YOUR CHOICE!) to someone from my blog. Cool, right? Just enter via the Rafflecopter below.
The giveaway will end next Thursday (November 6, 2014 at 6 pm EST) – a winner will first be announced in the Facebook event (and later on the Rafflecopter widget, and by email.)
Jamberry sheets cost $15 per sheet and you can buy 3 sheets and get 1 free. One sheet can cover two manicures and a pedicure. I’ve read that some people are able to stretch the sheets even further and get two of each out of them. Also? Jamberry are safe for acrylic and gel nails.
Are you into nails? What is your favorite color or design that you have either tried or seen? (I’m totally into the candy cane design. LOVE them.)
