I used to wear a watch every day. It was part of my style and I wore one out of necessity. There was a time (no pun intended) that I didn’t carry my phone with me or it wasn’t convenient to check my phone for the time. And I’m almost always on time for meetings and the like. Somewhere along the way, I stopped wearing one every day. (I think it was actually soon after my first marathon…and that’s a longer story.)
JORD approached me a few weeks ago about trying out one of their watches made from wood. I checked out the site and found a style I really loved, but I knew I had to see it to really be wowed. I mean, a wooden watch? That’s a thing?
Apparently it’s totally a thing and I love this JORD watch. It was easy to order the correct size (I printed their size chart, cut out the strip to measure my wrist, and they took out links so the watch would fit properly.) They even included the extra links in case I need to have them added at some point.
There’s a wide variety of wood colors and watch face styles on their site. The watch I was sent was the Sidney in Cherry, with the Mother Pearl face. It’s hard to get the full effect of the Mother Pearl, but I think that’s one of my favorite features.
It’s fun enough to wear to a cookout on the weekends, casual enough to wear outside of work, but classic enough to wear with most of my work clothes. (Keep in mind, I dress up a lot for work.)
The watches are made to be water resistant, but not to be submerged in water. (Good to know for any pool parties I may be attending.) And the wood is going to vary by watch. Think of trees. They’re all different, right? That’s what makes the JORD wood watches special. Each one is unique!
**In exchange for my review, I did receive a JORD wood watch. No other compensation was exchanged and all opinions are my own.
Do you wear a watch? Are you familiar with wooden watches?
