I was finally getting over my cold. I’ve felt good for about a week. And yesterday I woke up feeling slightly “off.” By yesterday afternoon, I had cold-round 2.
I’m definitely in the middle of marathon training. Running so much, not resting quite enough, my immune system is not at its best and everyone in my office has been sick (and not taking sick days.) So while I did work yesterday, today is officially a sick day. There’s no way I’m going to continue to spread my germs to my healthy co-workers.
I think I kind of needed a mental health day, in addition to trying to get well. The accident last week, followed by insurance hell (and being told by the other car owner’s insurance company that the accident was MY fault) has taken a toll on me. I’m mentally checking out.
So today has been a lot of relaxing on the couch, watching movies, folding laundry and tending to a needy cat. Oh, and drinking a lot of fluids. And doubling up on the vitamin C.
Do you take sick days when you have a cold? Does it annoy you when people don’t stay home when they’re ill? How about mental health days? (Oh how I wish I had extra days to take for “mental health” days.)
