landscaping galore
We spent most of Saturday at parties (one isn’t worth talking about. The first one, though, was pretty fun.) Saturday night was spent with friends and then we slept a little later than usual today.
Once we got going, though, the day just flew by. We shopped til we almost dropped, and the bulk of our shopping was done at Lowes. We purchased two new plants for our front porch (which is nothing more than glorified cement) and mulch. Also added two new plants to one of the flower beds. I ran out of mulch, though, so I’m heading back to Lowes tomorrow. Oh, and on the third picture, note the border that I replaced today. I tore the boards up when I pulled the bush out. Today I pulled the boards back from the curb (I was hoping the city would pick them up) and decided to reuse them. The bricks I dreamed of are too expensive at the moment. Here is what we did:
While we were out shopping, we stopped by the pet store and grabbed new inserts for Chloe’s cardboard scratching post. It’s a slab of cardboard that she LOVES. It took 3 months to wear out the old one. You add a little catnip to it and she loves it even more. Well, here she is when we took it out of the packaging. We think the bag of catnip was laying against the top portion. She literally drooled all over it.
We also grabbed a toy that was on clearance – basically a bag of catnip. Chloe rubbed it all over her face. I think she got a little too much of her drug. She’s been coming down from the catnip high for the past couple of hours and it’s been a little surreal. I believe we’ve all learned from this experience. Tonight she’s been jumping in the clothes basket, as I’ve been folding clothes, and grabbing our feet to rub against her face. Crazy cat.
I’m not ready to return to work today. I’d love to spend another day in the yard. We’re throwing a party next weekend and I’m really wanting to get the yard into decent shape. I’ll be spending a lot of ours after work this week to get it looking good.
I also planned on showing you our office this past Friday. Problem is, it’s a mess. I have been trying to find all of the attachments for the curtain rods, and there’s no curtain hanging in here (still) and it’s just chaotic. We did, however, rearrange the living and dining rooms (all thanks to the husband who started doing it without talking to me) and I need to take pictures to share with you. It’s kind of fun. Definitely more open, and very different from before. The dining room is in desperate need of artwork/pictures/whatever. It’s so bare.
Alright. I have more laundry to do and curtains to hang, if I can ever find the wall attachments!
Hi! Your yard is looking very nice. Just wait till alot of the stuff grows and reproduces from year to year. A couple of years ago Some ladies gave me some perennials, black eyed susans and some purple flowers that would remind you of them. Then last year I added 4 more plants. Stuff looked really sparce, but this summer, things have really filled out and are beginning to bloom. Everything is really thriving. Yours will really take hold and everything looks so nice, but just wait to see it next year! Must close. Love and miss you, Aunt LInda
