Lansinoh to the rescue!

Yesterday was a no good very bad day. And just when I thought it was getting better, it got worse.

I was home late in the afternoon and pumping (we’re 14.5 months into breastfeeding. Why not keep it up a while longer?) And the pump stopped. Just. stopped. And I almost had a heart attack. That purple machine has been like a good friend to me for the past year (especially since I returned to work one year ago next week.)

I called Lansinoh to see what I could do. Their customer service girl (I can’t remember her name) asked me for the lot number. Unfortunately, mine had worn off. She asked if I had the box or the receipt. The box was recycled and the receipt? Well, this was a baby shower gift. At that point, I asked if I was just out of luck and should I head out and drop the $120 for a new pump. And she put me on hold.

As a courtesy, they were going to overnight the electrical base – the part that broke. I was floored. The entire pump was only under warranty for a year from the purchase date (which was well over a year ago since my baby showers were more than a month before the baby was even due.)

This was the second time I’ve had to call Lansinoh (the first time was about replacement parts.) Both times their customer service was off the charts.

For any new moms or new-to-breastfeeding moms that are considering Lansinoh products, I highly recommend them. The customer service alone will keep me as a customer.
