latest project: lounge pants

For my birthday, my husband bought me an Amy Butler book of patterns. I had checked the book out a few times in a row (for at least a month, maybe 6 weeks) because I couldn’t get enough of it. There is a pattern for lounge/sleep pants that I really wanted to try. I bought the material in late October and even cut out the pattern. And it sat in the dining room for weeks….until this evening.

I can’t believe I was scared to take on the project! Don’t get me wrong…I still haven’t completed the pants yet. But within 90 minutes, I had 3/4 of the project complete!

The husband and I went to a holiday party this evening, hosted by some of my co-workers. I almost bailed, but didn’t feel right about doing that since I had rsvp’d and baked a pie for the party.

Now we’re home, and I’m heading back to the dining room to try and finish the pants. Believe me – there will be photos when I’m through. (Oh yeah, and a review of the pattern. I went with a “medium” size and the pants are almost as long as I am tall, and could fit one of my friends – for real – in one of the legs. I bet they’ll be comfortable, though!)
