The LEGO Advent calendars are now available through Zulily! (Use code LABORDAY47 for free shipping when you spend $30.) I’ve purchased many of the sets the past few years – mostly the LEGO City, LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Harry Potter sets. This year I’m adding the LEGO Friends set to our collection!
Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that these Lego Advent sets were even a thing, let alone there are multiple sets. Now I’ve purchased multiple calendars each year. One year, I bought three of them.
My son loves LEGO. He also loves Star Wars, Harry Potter and the Avengers! My daughter will be doing the LEGO Friends Advent calendar this year! I haven’t decided which set we’ll purchase my son yet (but I’ll be purchasing it in the next day or so.)
In the past, I’ve kept them a secret from my son. Last year, he stood over my shoulder as I ordered. So much for secrets! Actually, I had him go through the LEGO site to make sure he was okay with the City version.
Two years ago, I purchased the LEGO City and the Harry Potter advent calendars and I have zero regrets. Many of the sets have characters or pieces you won’t find in other LEGO sets. While I purchased a different advent calendar for my daughter, both kids love to open these throughout December. The LEGO versions are an excellent addition to my son’s LEGO collection, and he likes pulling Star Wars sets from years past and playing with them. It’s one of the reasons I’m considering getting another Harry Potter version. (And, really, the Star Wars set looks amazing this year!)
Also, the characters don’t repeat each year! I really thought that the Harry Potter was a one-off the first year we got it, but the following year I realized that they are different every year.
I think these advent calendars are definitely worth the purchase!
Do you have any of these sets? Have you purchased them in the past? What are your thoughts on these?
