It’s been a hot minute since I really updated on my life. This is going to be kind of like a Currently post. My life this month summed up in a few paragraphs.

I just returned (Saturday!) from Mom 2.0. This was my third time attending this conference, and while I love the conference, something just seemed different this year. The city was fabulous – Austin, Texas is definitely somewhere I want to return one day. But the vibe was different. The conference heads back to Los Angeles next year, and I don’t think it’s going to work out for me logistically. (It runs into Mother’s Day weekend and graduation. Plus, LA is not the cheapest city for me to fly into.) We’ll see.

(I saw this in a Modcloth storefront in Austin. And I thought the concept Modcloth was introducing was SO COOL. You can go into this “store”, try on the items and order what you want from there – and get free express shipping. Plus, this phrase seemed to be the motto for last week in my little world.)

April has been a busy month for us. My husband and kids traveled to my in-laws over spring break (my spring break was in March), and the day after they returned we celebrated my daughter’s birthday before I drove to Virginia. My dad had surgery related to pancreatic cancer, and I spent less than two days in Virginia during the surgery and right after. I was home for Easter, worked one day and then flew to Austin.

I’ve been reading every chance I can get. (My Kindle Paperwhite is my favorite accessory.) I’ve listened to several of Brene Brown’s audio books this month (I had to be prepared for her Netflix special AND to hear her speak again at Mom2!) And now I have a potty training book downloaded to my Kindle. That’s right, my daughter is 3 and we haven’t completed potty training yet. She’s really trained me. 😉

In other conference news, I’ve been selected to be a Community Leader for Blissdom! Blissdom is taking place in November in a city near and dear to my heart – Nashville! Blissdom is a conference designed for online business creators, podcasters, writers, speakers, photographers, bloggers, social media influencers, entrepreneurs – basically anyone who wants to leverage the power of the internet to build their dreams! The Super Early Bird Pricing for Blissdom ends April 30th. Grab your ticket now before pricing goes up on May 1st. You can learn more at blissdomconference.com/tickets.

Oh and back over to Austin…while I was there, we tried to see the bats come out, and I happened to catch the most brilliant sunset from the Congress Ave. bridge.

I started our garden this weekend. I wish I’d taken before pictures. I don’t even have an after picture at the moment. Clearly, I was too busy weeding everything out, and planting. Do you garden? Or compost? I did a post a while back (Two years ago, I think) about a DIY compost bin. It’s still going strong in our house. Right now, I have cucumbers, two types of peppers and basil planted. I’ll keep adding plants until the garden boxes are packed.

I have a couple of giveaways coming your way soon – for Dunkin’ Donuts and an essential oils giveaway. Stay tuned! It’s going to be a fun week or two over here.

So. How has April treated YOU?
