look mom, no pattern!
I’m a little more awake this evening, but quickly fading. I’ll give you the rundown of my first sewing project, though.
Yesterday at work, my co-worker (and very cool friend) Dave showed me a quick pattern that I just *had* to try. It was a pattern for a simple tote bag and he showed me by tearing a sheet of paper š It was genius!
I got home and decided to try it out. I bought a yard of muslin a couple of weeks ago (same week I bought the sewing machine) and figured I could test with that. I was tired of just trying out stitches. I wanted to do something!
Without further ado, here’s my first tote:
I took it over to show my mom. I’m pretty excited about it. No it’s not pretty. And no, I don’t think it’s very functional. It’ll probably go in the trash at some point. My mom was pretty supportive. And a little shocked that I didn’t use a pattern. I just started cutting and sewing.
And it’s a start š
Oh and I’m ready for my next project.
Looks good..Don’t be in too much of a hurry to throw it out!! It just might come in handy one day.
Bravo on your first attempt! Thats more than I am able to do (but I am not crafty like you!)
I see your toes š
lol I didn’t crop the photo, and I laid the bag on the floor š No worries. At least I had my socks on!
