Lots happening
Went to Table after that last post…it was veryyyy good, the service was wonderfullll, but it was somewhat overpriced. I believe we definitely were paying for the service, but the food was yummy š
Jason graduated from basic training last week. Mom, Grandma A. and I drove to Ft. Jackson to visit him. It was a fun-filled 2 1/2 days. Thursday was family day and we spent 8 hours with Jason on base. I don’t remember eating that much in one day – it was almost all we had to do on base. We did play miniature golf and visited three different PX’s, but we mostly ate! Friday was fun because after the graduation we could take Jason off base…still a lot of eating. Heather’s parents came to graduation and it was really nice to see them (I know it meant a lot to Jason too!) Again, we spent about 10 hours with Jason…catching up, eating, shopping for things he needed to talk to Norfolk, hanging out and taking silly pictures (which one day I may post.) And, then on Saturday, Jason was off to Virginia to be reunited with his wife and begin music training. I know he must be doing well because mom didn’t hear from him again until Tuesday night.
Tonight was the birthday party for Victoria and Gabrielle. Victoria turned 5 on Tuesday, Gabby turns 2 on Sunday. Chuck-E-Cheese sure has changed since I was a kid. I think the games are smaller š It’s also about half the size it used to be, and there are no “live” puppets doing their shows on stage. There is a life-size Chuck who stands to the right of three screens and he moves occasionally…but it’s not the same. Either way, Victoria had a blast, and we had a blast watching her and Gabby and the other million children running around like crazy.
And, finally, tomorrow’s my birthday. I officially feel old. Tomorrow is the first birthday I’ve worked in a long time – last year, I took half the day off. Saturday, Kenny and his roommates are throwing the second 80s party of the year, and it’s a joint birthday celebration for Lena and I. So, if you’re in town, grab a pair of leg warmers or tight-roll your pants and stop on by! We’ll see you there š
