Making the most out of a rainy weekend

I received the following product in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.

We’ve had several pretty busy weekends between birthday parties, family in town, the fair last weekend, my half marathon training and the start of school. This weekend, we had a halfway busy weekend with a friend’s birthday party and getting ready for Florance to hit our city. (We’re fortunate that the storm was a tropical depression by the time it came through.)

What I did not plan for was how to entertain two kids indoors when we didn’t feel completely comfortable leaving the house.

We stocked up on snacks, made sure things were ready in the event we were out of power, and settled in for at least 36 hours of being home bound. Card games were played, dance parties were held, and more television time was consumed than I was initially planning on. Do you know what makes TV time better?

Blankets.

We received this Sherpa throw blanket a couple of weeks ago and we’re putting it to the test. It’s super soft, really big (the one we received is 50×60) and makes a fun little fort, should a child need that kind of thing while watching the latest Scooby Doo movie.

Through Collage.com, it took only a few minutes to connect to an album (I chose my Instagram account) and decide on a collage layout. I was quite impressed with how well the pictures turned out, considering they were all from Instagram! All of these photos were taken within the last year, and they are some of my favorite memories. Even Chloe made it onto the blanket!

I’m seriously impressed with the pictures in real life.

I foresee fights over this when the weather turns colder, and the cat figures out it’s on our couch.

  1. I like a fully stocked kitchen and pantry, lots of great books to read, a warm fire on a chilly weekend, and a warm throw.

  2. I love stay-in weekends!! A good book, some popcorn, and something (or someone) cozy to snuggle with make it perfect šŸ™‚

  3. For a stay in weekend I need my favorite snacks–grpes, chips, and cheese, a bottle of white wine, and recorded shows on my dvr.

  4. Netflix, finger foods, and family make for a good stay in weekend around here. When the weather is cooler, we like to also have a fire outside in our fire pit.

  5. I require a warm cozy space – usually bed with warm blankets! Plus good reading or good movies, & cuddly kitty company. šŸ˜€
