Max Patch
While Jason was home, I took a couple of days off and we went to Max Patch for a short hike. The drive to the trail was longer than the actual hike, but the views there are pretty amazing. (By the way, Jason and Mom, I’m waiting for copies of your photos….)
Here’s our trip, in photos:
The day wrapped up with a drive through Hot Springs and then to Weaverville for lunch at KFC (where I NEVER eat.) We finally went to Ference Cheese (my mom is a cheese guru and we were having a battle of macaroni and cheese that night). The lady at the cheese shop thought I was a student. Nice.
That night led us to grandma’s house, where we had our choice of mac-and-cheese – grandma’s or mom’s. I’d say it was a draw. And I think I make mine more like my grandma’s.
I think that was most of Wednesday. Thursday was a little more random, with lunch at 12 Bones and dinner at mom’s. It was a good visit with Jason, though. I’m thinking lots of good thoughts for him and everyone in his unit, as they prepare for their deployment.
More photos and updates to come…
