I went grocery shopping this weekend without a meal plan. It was…interesting. And not something I would advise. I spent $60 at Sam’s Club and then around $25 at the grocery store – and now I’m planning to make do with whatever I bought. (In my defense, I bought enough milk for 3 weeks, 3 pounds of chicken because it was on sale and several other items in bulk that we’ll be using for a while.) Of course, the downside of shopping like that is I have 8 servings of a Panera Bread soup that needs to be eaten this week and I’m not sure if I’ll even like it. (My husband wanted to try it.) So. Let’s see what we’re eating this week.
Sunday – out. I have a friend in town and we’re going to be meeting him at a pizza place – so pizza all around!
Monday – Linguini with a red sauce (and clams.) Carried over from last week’s menu.
Tuesday – Grilled cheese sandwiches and the soup I mentioned above.
Wednesday – Rigatoni. The pasta was on sale, we have tons of spaghetti sauce from the last time I went to Sam’s and beef in the freezer.
Thursday – Potluck at a local school event that my husband has semi-signed up for. (This is all still tentative.)
Friday – Pesto pizza (it’s in the freezer.)
Saturday – Apple-raisin stuffed pork chops (minus the raisins.) This is a recipe from eMeals. I switched to the clean eating plan and I’m really excited about trying this! (By the way, eMeals is offering 30% off right now with the code CYBER. You can read more in my post from yesterday.)
Do you regularly shop without a specific list? I had 3 items on my list for the grocery store with the idea that I would be shopping today (and it has not happened today.) I love that I was able to come up with a plan, though, so we’ll be somewhat organized this week.
