menu Monday – keeping things simple
New week, new menu. This week, I don’t think we’re trying any new recipes. My husband is back at work (as of tomorrow) following a week off and we just need to be ready for a busy week. We’re also tracking everything we’re eating (more on that in another post, I think) and it’s easier for us to start doing that when we’re familiar with the meals.
Breakfasts around here include oatmeal or eggs or waffles. I generally eat oatmeal, but I sometimes surprise myself by having a smoothie instead. (My smoothies are 1 cup – or a little more – of strawberries, one banana, one cup of orange juice, one container – about 6 ounces – of low-fat yogurt. Blend. Add ice if you want it thicker.)
Lunches are leftovers.
Sunday – dinner with my family
Monday – grilled pork (from a local farmer!) and salad
Tuesday – Spaghetti
Wednesday – Grilled chicken and salad
Thursday – Meatloaf
Friday – Pizza
Saturday – open.
Our tailgate market (about half of a mile from our house) reopened this past weekend. Our farmers sell meat, eggs, goat cheese and seasonal vegetables. I’m so excited to get strawberries soon, and more excited that we can get our meat so easily again.
Do you shop at tailgate or farmers markets? We have so many in our area and our farmers market is open year-round.
Linking up with orgjunkie this week.
We have a bunch of farmers markets up here but they don’t start going for another month
