menu plan Monday
Ah, there is more to life than my newborn. I’ve done a few of these menu plan posts in the past, and thought it might be interesting to take part once again – especially since our meals have to be well thought out now (baby can’t handle spices, dairy and certain sauces, which we’re learning with every meal.) So. Our boring week of meals is….
Sunday – Meatballs in a marinara sauce. This meal was provided by one of our neighbors, and we’ve had it frozen for about 2 weeks. I tried not to eat too much of the sauce, but apparently ate enough that affected the baby….so red sauce is out for a while.
Monday – Grilled chicken and a vegetable. I stocked up on frozen vegetables that can be microwaved easily. We’ll probably have corn tonight, and we have a few seasonings that we can add to the chicken – mine will be plain, though.
Tuesday – soup and sandwiches. I’m hoping to make it back to ceramics class, and the husband is working late, and this meal needs to be quick. So grilled cheese sandwich for him, and a sandwich with deli meat (roasted chicken) for me.
Wednesday – hamburgers and sweet potato fries. Love, love, love our George Foreman grill. I don’t know what we’d do without it.
Thursday – Chicken stir-fry, minus the garlic.
Friday – This was supposed to be lasagna. I have to figure out something else, but seeing how we have plenty of meat in the freezer, it shouldn’t be difficult.
Saturday – We have friends who had signed up to bring us a meal this night, but I may tell them they’re off the hook if they really don’t want to cook for us. (Although, it’s also a good way for people to see the baby.) 🙂
That sounds like a great meal plan for the week.
Are you finding that certain foods bother the baby? I didn’t breast feed, so I never had to worry about that, but we did learn early on that D needed soy. I refused to have separate formula, so K got soy too.
We are finding that certain foods bother Lucas. An over abundance of dairy made him miserable, and spices (garlic, onion, etc.) tend to give him indigestion which causes him pain. So the more bland I can be, the better for him. Hopefully in the next couple of months, we can start reintroducing some of these foods back into my diet.
