My mind is in a million places this week. The tornadoes in Oklahoma have been on my mind for the past several days and my heart hurts so much for the families affected by the devastation.

I spent Monday at home with my boy. Day cares were closed because of a big training for childcare providers. I had a to do list a mile long, and accomplished maybe two tasks. We played hard. We played with Sophie (my mom’s dog), took walks, played in the yard and just enjoyed the day as much as possible. We’ll be replaying that day this coming Monday (because unfortunately, teachers have to work on Memorial Day, so my husband won’t get to spend the day off with us.)

My boy is such a communicator. He started saying sentences last week, such as “I NEED WATER!” or “I need down!” and “I need food!” Notice he has a lot of needs. Tuesday night he said, “I turn tv off?” (He likes to turn the tv off if we’re watching the news. He’d rather listen to his music. I don’t blame him.) Oh, and he has been requesting a lot of “Farmer in the Know?” (Farmer in the Dell.) He’s such a sweet boy.

I’ve worked from home two afternoons this week because the a/c repair people couldn’t show up during their designated appointment window (they wanted to show up at 6 p.m., which is my designated dinnertime.)

I think I’m going to run my long run tomorrow so I don’t have to run so long on Saturday. Sounds a little crazy, but I really like my lazy weekend mornings. It looks like it may not rain this weekend, so I’m hoping we can get outside for some fun. Oh, and lawn mowing. Because the yard always has to be mowed.

I wish I was at the beach this week. Or next week. I would just like to be at the beach soon – is that too much to ask?
