midweek randoms…the travel, photos, gardening, kids, running edition.
I realized this morning that we have so much to do before we can leave town on Friday. I’m considering taking at least half of tomorrow off to pack and clean (and probably do yard work.)
After everything that happened with Boston, we decided that the kiddo is going to stay home with my mom. We’re only going to be away from him for two solid days, but I’m still nervous about any copycat things that could potentially happen, and I’d rather not have to tote him around DC. We’re going to miss him like crazy, but know that he’ll be happier at the house than in a hotel room.
We had family photos taken on Monday. They turned out great, but only because I have magical powers to make my son smile. Really, I just tossed him in the air and “dropped” him low to the ground and popped back up to take photos. My legs are still sore. I wish I was kidding.
I planted seeds a couple of weeks ago and discovered last week that the squirrels ate them. I hate squirrels. So I replanted seeds and covered them (clear plastic top) and I’m hoping they grow quickly to be transplanted soon.
My kid thinks squirrels are cats. I try to correct him, but I have larger battles to win.
He won’t eat fruits or vegetables unless they are pureed (except apples and bananas.) It’s so frustrating, and something I’m working on every day. I have a full post I need to publish on our eating battles. These are my larger battles.
This morning, the kid went running down the hallway saying “mess! mess!” and he came back down the hallway (out of our bathroom), carrying tissue. I asked him what he was doing and he said, “I clean!” I followed him and he went over to where he spilled his smoothie in the living room to “clean.” Smart boy.
I signed up for another half marathon. I should give you details, but I’m mentally spent, so….another day?
How is your week going? Any fun plans on the agenda for this weekend?
LOVE the family picture!
thank you!
oh my goodness, he’s such a cutie! Love the smoothie story and the squirrel/cat mix up. š
Thanks!!
when my friend kelly started back running after having her baby (well, a year later. took the kid that long to sleep thru the night and kelly to catch back up on her sleep) kelly started complaining that her quads hurt. we were doing easy runs (10/11 m/m pace) definitely no speedwork, so we couldn’t figure out what was up…
until the next week when she had a “dance party” holding her one year old and bouncing up and down and discovered the exact same soreness the next day.
I hear you on the sleep (hello! L didn’t sleep for the first 15 months!) Keeping kids happy is painful!
