How to Make a Minion Father’s Day Card
This minion Father’s Day card is fairly easy for kids to craft – and make unique for dad! Free template is available.
Minions are so fun. Several years ago, I this post on how to create your own Minion inspired party tags. The Despicable Me movies are ones we can watch together, and my kids find hilarious. (But also, my husband and I find entertaining.)
And full disclosure – this Father’s Day card can also work as dad’s birthday card. There is nothing that says Dad can’t be One in a Minion for his birthday!
My kids love making cards for every occasion, but they tend to wait until the DAY the card is to be delivered to start crafting. This year, I’m on top of things with this Minion Father’s Day Card – so easy my five-year-old can make it! If both kids want to make a minion, I know that they can customize them enough that they’ll be special, yet different.
What you need to make this minion Father’s Day card:

How to make the minion Father’s Day Card:
Step one: Select a cardstock paper for the card and select blue, yellow, black and grey paper for the Minion craft. Trace the Minion body base and arms on yellow paper, the overalls on blue paper, the hands (gloves) and shoes on black paper and the eye glasses on grey paper. You can use the eyes directly from the template. Cut out the different pieces.
Step two: Attach the shoe cutouts on the bottom side of the overalls leg parts. Attach the hand cutouts with the arm cutouts.
Step three: Glue the overalls on the Minion body base cutout.
Step four: Glue the glasses.
Step five: Attach the minion’s arms so that they one is pointing upwards and one downwards. Draw the smile on the face using your black marker. Then draw a collar and pocket on the blue overalls.
Step six: Take the square box from the template and write your Father’s Day message. You can have your child write “Dad, You’re 1 in a Minion” to stay on theme. You’ll glue this box to the minion’s hand.
Step seven: Fold your construction paper or card stock in half. (If you have a sheet that is 8.5×11″, fold along the long side.) Glue the minion onto the front of construction paper or card stock to finish your Father’s Day card.
