miscellany Monday – a little lazy weekend and maybe (soon) employed

I love random posts. They are what I do best.

Saturday we ran around like crazy. I embraced the car nap so my son could go to our friends’ daughter’s birthday party. I drove several connecting interstates to get to a Starbucks (because I knew he would fall asleep fairly quickly, and then I’d need something to buy me time.) It totally worked. He slept for over an hour and then rocked the heck out of his time at the party.

carnaps I let Lucas eat sugar cookies like they were….well, cookies. He loved them, I wanted him to have fun and enjoy himself. I probably should have stopped him sooner, because I’m sure his little tummy was hurting by the end of the afternoon.

Sunday was the opposite. The high temperature was 34 degrees. Lucas didn’t go outside at all, and I only went out to get the newspaper. I had high(er) hopes of showering and getting us ready for church, but then I kind of ruined messed up our breakfast, and things took longer than they should have. Before I realized it, I had missed my window for showering and making it on time. So. Inside we remained.

We are owners of a 3.5 foot long stuffed monkey. While going stir-crazy yesterday, I “wore” the monkey on my head and Lucas thinks it’s HILARIOUS. Things we do for a laugh.

I may, or may not, be starting a new job next Monday (!!!) I’m really excited about it. More to come.

I’ve kept my job-hunting endeavors off of the blog. Crazy. It’s been over 13 weeks. I’ve been on so many interviews this month and last, and they’ve turned into second interviews. Some interviews were 45-minutes long, while others were HOURS (as in 3-4 hours) long. Early on, I did a phone interview from the comforts of a pool. I’ve done phone interviews while in my pajamas and workout gear. I’m pretty good at doing phone interviews since I always rehearse answers to interview questions. So when it came time to interview in person, I couldn’t just wear what I had worn to previous interviews (which is what someone had recommended.) It’s been such a crazy process.

I never blogged the 26th month of Lucas. I may still go back and do that, just so I have a record of it (because I have a photo, albeit a not great photo.) He deserves his life to be blogged, right?

I’m really excited about the holidays, and simplifying, and embracing all that comes with the entire season.

What are you doing differently this holiday season? How was your weekend?

Linking up for Miscellany Monday.
