Miscellany Monday: Teeth sagas, blueberries and Prime Day
Keeping it random tonight…
We have been through the ringer this past week. The baby is still working on molars and they are BRUTAL. Basically, we did not sleep this weekend. She did sleep last night, but I don’t know if I dreamed she woke up, or if she really did cry and I was too tired to get out of bed. We ran out of infant pain reliever Saturday night – and that is NOT the time you want to run out! I made a quick trip to Target after church Sunday to make sure we didn’t make that mistake again. Girlfriend is pitiful.
(taken before church – she’s always chewing.)
While she’s gaining teeth, our boy is losing them! He has had a loose tooth for weeks – and he did not want to lose it. I really thought it would come out last weekend when we were traveling, but he managed to keep it in his mouth until tonight. While he was eating dinner (a hot dog), he mentioned he thought his tooth was falling out. Sure enough, it was barely hanging on. He did a little freak out, but as long as I kind of ignored him and let him do his thing, he got it out. (I actually got it out of his mouth – this has happened both times. I don’t know what exactly he thinks will happen if he physically removes it.) The first thing he said? “I can still talk!” For some reason he thought he would be unable to talk now that he’s missing another tooth. (This is his third tooth he’s lost – second without dental help.)
I actually hear the baby now. Cue tears – for all of us. I just want my good sleeper back…without pain.
My mom has a lot of blueberries in her back yard that need picking, and I’ve convinced my son that he’s the professional blueberry picker of the family. We have a lot of berries right now and I’m grateful that the household loves eating them. I have a recipe I’ll be sharing on the blog this week, in case you have an excess of blueberries.
We’re traveling later this month and our technology keeps failing us – including my husband’s Kindle which is on its last legs (it’s several years old.) Did you know that Amazon is having a Prime Day? And it began tonight? And the Kindle Fire is at a crazy low price? I may be purchasing one (his is working at the moment, but I’m so afraid it’s on its way out and he’ll be needing another one soon.) (Also, that’s an affiliate link. If you make a purchase, I may make a small commission.)
And randomly, a photo of the hydrangeas in my yard. I love these flowers. This plant was sent to us following my grandpa’s funeral several years ago. My mom split the plant up and this one made it to my yard. It’s beautiful.
Now. Will you be shopping for Prime Day? What can I not live without?
