mixed up Monday

I woke up feeling blah today, and surprised to see a dusting of snow on the ground. That dusting delayed schools…and then closed them. Talk about overreacting. Oh, and now they have Saturday school. And we’re supposed to get snow tomorrow night. School could be in session until July at this rate.

When I went to my car, I realized I had left my driver’s side door unlocked (oops.) And someone decided to go through my front seat. Lucky for me, I either have bad taste in music or they just didn’t appreciate great music – because they left my CDs alone. I’m pretty lucky, because nothing was stolen.

The rest of the day was pretty good. I worked through lunch, and I feel like I’m on track to launch our new website next week. (Now, when next week gets here, I may feel differently.)

And onto a sewing project. Last night I sat down and worked on a case for my camera. My old case should have been durable, but the zipper on it broke, and I wasn’t ready to spend any amount of money to replace it. Once I got the correct bobbin on my sewing machine, the project went pretty smoothly. I had fabric remnants (including the batting I used for the inside) and I used a random button we had lying around. Hopefully it doesn’t belong on a pair of my husband’s pants. So this case essentially cost me a couple of dollars if you add up all of the materials. (But less than $5, because the fabric cost roughly $1.)

I LOVE the fabric. And the case is pretty cute in person. It’ll hold a larger point-and-shoot camera, should I ever purchase one. It also fits my phone, which I think is pretty cool.

My case totally makes up for the rough start to my morning!
