I just want to wish all of my mom-friends (and friends in mom roles) a happy Mother’s Day! We kept things low-key here. Work has kept me crazy busy and I had all intentions of doing all! the! handmade! things! for my mom, mother-in-law, stepmom, and grandmas. I think all the fine ladies in my life now understand that there is something handmade in the making…but graduation happens the same weekend as Mother’s Day and it had to take precedence this year.
Today, however, I recovered. I was able to sleep in until 8:25 (!!!) and woke to a 2.5-year-old sitting on my chest with his face in my face yelling “Mommy! Wake up! Wake up, mommy!” When I wanted to go for a run, Lucas insisted on coming with me. And he agreed to ride in the stroller, so we took a family run (for only 2 miles.) We stopped at the playground to play for a few minutes (at mile 1.3) and just had a stress-free day.
We had dinner at my grandma’s house (my aunt cooked! It was fantastic!) and Lucas even ate ribs plus corn on the cob. Both are things we would have fought with him over a year ago.
And I managed to get another four generations photo from today. I may have bribed Lucas with a cookie to get this photo. Toddlers, man.
It was a good day. I hope yours was fabulous.
