Much needed time off…and countdown to Christmas

I did not realize just how much we all needed a few days off from school/daycare/work until today. Day four of our break (well, day 3.5 for me since I worked Wednesday morning) and I finally feel like I’m catching up on sleep, and able to get some stuff done. Even when our house is 100% chaos every day. I kid you not. Our children are nuts, and they go stir crazy if they are in the house longer than 30 minutes at a time.

(We recently changed her high chair, so she’s now sitting in a regular chair at the table. She appears to have had no problems adjusting.)

Except we are limited once again since the toddler seems to have caught another cold. I noticed a runny nose starting on Thanksgiving Day and then yesterday she started running a fever. She was feverish today, but not all day so I’m hoping it doesn’t develop to something more serious.

Three days had passed between those two images. It’s sad how quickly the colds can settle in.

This morning we woke up to no heat. I don’t know what caused our furnace to not work properly (we had it serviced on TUESDAY) but when someone arrived to look at it, the heat came on. Go figure. And thankfully they considered it under warranty since they were just out here a few days ago. A broken furnace is not something I want to deal with right now. (We’re still dealing with a broken dishwasher!)

My son is all about Christmas right now. He’s been in Christmas mode for a while, but he’s SO FREAKING EXCITED. If you are as excited for Christmas like my son, you may want to look something like a Christmas 2018 Countdown Checklist, to check you have done everything to the lead up of the festive season. He can’t wait to get the tree up, and put out decorations. I haven’t told him that decorating will be limited since we have a toddler who loves to tear things up. Tonight we watched a very short Christmas movie, and he’s watched the newest Sesame Street Christmas special no fewer than 5 times, and I think it started airing on Wednesday. He’s really, really excited. He’s even picked out his sister’s Christmas present – he’s ahead of the game! I need to take notes! He’s been telling me for months about a hoverboard he really wants as all of his friends have one! I don’t even know where to start looking, but one of my friends did tell me that purchasing a hoverboard doesn’t have to be hard and that I just need to check out different reviews.

And now I’m working on a series of 12 posts that will start going up next Friday. (Y’all, send me positive vibes because some of these projects have not been working out. What’s in my head and what is coming out in craft projects are entirely different things and I’m starting to worry!)

The countdown is on until Christmas break. Are you ready??
