musical night!
I haven’t really mentioned this, but tonight we’re heading down to Greenville to see Aslyn perform at the Handlebar! One of my current favorite songs of hers is “You and Me and Daisies.” Check out her site to hear the song or watch the video:
I first saw Aslyn several years ago when she opened for Edwin McCain at the Grey Eagle in Asheville. I wasn’t quite sure about opening bands back then, but Aslyn totally rocks. (And I also love opening bands now….sometimes more than the headliner!)
Aslyn makes me want to learn how to play the piano. Too bad I don’t have a musical bone in my body. My brother inherited those genes.
I’m pretty psyched about this show (and The Brilliant Inventions later this month, Will Hoge in September, Ingrid Michaelson in November and possibly Joshua Radin in November.) 2009 is turning out to be an AWESOME year for music!
I discovered David Ryan Harris at an Edwin McCain concert, he was a pretty cool opener too.
I love DRH. I once rear-ended a mustang when I was reaching for my cell phone in the floor of my car. The song playing at the moment was “Don’t Look Down.” No joke.
