my brain is elsewhere

It is seriously not a great week to be back at work. Not that the work is bad. Nope. I just don’t have any motivation and my brain is mush.

Good thing I’m only working three days this week! Yep, tomorrow is my last day before beginning a long(er) weekend. We’re heading to Lake Waccamaw after I get out tomorrow afternoon.

On Thursday, you will find me at the beach (most likely Carolina Beach.) Thursday night, we’re heading to Myrtle Beach for a concert (Edwin McCain at House of Blues!) We’re also meeting up with my cousin Erin and her boyfriend Andy (not sure if my aunt and uncle are coming along) for dinner before the show.

I hear that we’ll be hanging out on Friday and seeing some of my husband’s friends from high school. That should be fun. We’ll have proper time to talk and catch up, rather than leaving all of our socializing to Facebook.

On Saturday, we’ll be in Wilmington for a cook-out and fireworks will be mixed in there somewhere.

And on Sunday, the journey home will begin.

Oh, and I’ve totally scheduled my next vacation. Is it sad that I’ll be off for most of the summer? Sounds like a great plan to me (even if one of the weeks was a furloughed week.)

I must say, I do love summertime.
