my new bag
I made the bag shown in the Amy Butler “In Town Bag” pattern that I mentioned in last night’s post. (The top one pictured.) I fell in love with the photo, and I LOVE the bag I made today!
The most over-used fabric was used once again. I bought two yards of this stuff, and I still have more than a yard left. I bought a remnant for the liner fabric, so it was super duper cheap.
And the interior:
There are two pockets. One with the patterned fabric, the other with the pink fabric. After I had it together, I realized that one of the layers for the bottom was sewn in backwards, so you can see the fusible fabric on the bottom. Oops. If it had been somewhere more prominent, I would have taken out all of the stitching and started over again. I figure only I will see it (or someone who steals my new bag. In that case, that person deserves a poorly constructed bag.)
I’m taking both of my newly crafted bags to Hawaii. They’ll be so easy to fold up in my suitcase – and they aren’t too heavy that they’ll be annoying.
I did managed to take some time to finish packing today. Now I’m wondering if I can make our bathroom curtains tomorrow.
Great job š
Yay! It looks great! I’ll bet it was fun to make too! š
Jaime!!! That looks awesome-great job! I am amazed how quick you are popping these projects out! Rock on girl!
Travel safe and have a fabulous time in Hawaii!
love it, i’m a sucker for amy butler fabric too š
Seriously, can you make me something? ‘Cuz all your sewing isn’t making me want to sew, it just makes me want to buy cute stuff other people made.
