new beginnings
For almost six years, I’ve been the online editor for the newspaper. I was an online reporter before that and online producer before that. That sums up the past nine years of my professional work life.
In just over a week I begin a position as a developer for our site. (I still don’t know my exact title.) It’ll involve lots more programming and interaction with advertising, rather than news. It will definitely be a change. There’s a huge learning curve (as in, I have a LOT to learn!!) and I’ll be moving to a new team of people. I’ve managed to outlast everyone in the Online department, which has been quite the feat.
I’m pretty overwhelmed, excited, nervous and scared about the new job. It’s going to be a lot more time, but during more normal hours. I’ll get to work with great people (and I get my own office!)
So, wish me luck. I’m definitely going to need it.
Now that I am back online, I can say YAY!!!! I am so happy for you!
Woohooo! I am soooo thrilled for you! You deserve it.
So I guess you won’t be a Dishin’ Diva anymore! Good luck with the new job and congrats on getting your own office!
Thanks, everyone š And, no worries. I’ll still be a Dishin’ Diva! I asked to keep that “job” and they’re all for it!
It’s hard to make a change after so long, but you’ll do great!
