As of yesterday, I’m no longer unemployed. I touched on this last week and now I feel like my head is spinning from everything moving so fast. (Time, will you PLEASE slow down??)
It feels like ages, but it’s been about two months since I applied for the director of alumni relations position at Mars Hill University, a school I love so much. I graduated from the school 13 years ago and when the job posted, I had several friends email/message me that I had to apply. So I did.
And then in late November, I accepted the job. I started this week.
I’m excited. This is such a great opportunity for me and for my family. It’s a little more time away from my family (the commute. some travel. some events.) But in the end it’s going to be so great.
It’s been only a day and I definitely feel like good things are happening.
It’s odd that I no longer have “online” in my job title. For years I was online producer, online reporter, online editor or online developer. My primary focus is not developing a website. (Though I’m not straying completely away from websites.)
It’s so, so good.
I hope you’ll continue to hang in here as I navigate yet another new chapter in my life (our lives.)
Congratulations! I’m very happy for you. Good luck with the transition!
Hurray! I’m so excited for you. Here’s to good things!
