How have we made it through the third week of November??

As I mentioned previous, I’m not getting paid for the rest of the month. I return to work on Monday, and my next check will be coming to me in December. Oh how I can’t wait for December.

So let’s see how I did this week…

Housing
$209 Budgeted ~ $209.99 actual
This won’t change. I had this all budgeted and spent at the beginning of the month.

Food
$210 budgeted ~ $145 actual
I spent $60 on groceries tonight (actually, it was $59.34.) We won’t be home Wednesday evening through Saturday afternoon, so the only dinners I had to play for were Sunday through Tuesday and next Saturday. While at the grocery store, I actually changed the menu around so I could buy some vegetables that were on sale (I still bought the items for one of our dinners, and we can cook it the following week – all items were non-perishables.) I’m really excited that I’ve been able to keep this category in check.

Personal Spending
$168.50 budgeted ~ $130.56 actual

I had to get a flu shot this week, which was $32. I think that was really my biggest “purchase” this week.

Social
$76.50 budgeted ~ $61.13 actual

I apparently wasn’t very social this week. This one stayed the same.

Home
$94.25 budgeted ~ $44.81 actual

This category also stayed the same. Could I really be reigning things in?

Clothes
$54.2572.39 budgeted ~ $6.41 actual

Once again, I didn’t spend any money from this category. Score!

Transportation
$250.75 budgeted ~ $31 actual

I’m still on the same tank of gas from last week.

So that was a little boring, but I guess boring is good! I still have money left for the rest of the month, and I’ll be earning an income as of Monday. šŸ™‚

I need some tips to keep the grocery budget in check. I always go over – especially now that Ruffin is eating real food. šŸ˜›
