nursery update (part 4)

I had a pretty good “to do” list this weekend, even though my friend Mai was in town (and staying with us!) And it’s a little appropriate that one of my nursery items to take care of actually had to do with Mai. I had three things to take care of:

–straighten the nursery (unpack gift bags and packages that had started to gather)

–hang the curtain rod, and possibly the curtains

–hang the canvas art (that Mai painted!)

Needless to say, the nursery is straightened, and the artwork is now on the walls. But I can’t find the brackets for the curtain rod, and therefore we still don’t have curtains hanging.

The last time Mai was coming to town, she texted me to see if we had any artwork for the baby’s room. When I told her “no”, she replied with a picture of something she had painted. I think she meant for these two pieces to be hung side-by-side, but we thought we’d go for something different and hang them in the corner, on opposite walls.

This is when you’re first entering the room:

A closer shot (and this really does show more of the “blue” that the room is):

And a slightly different angle:

We may end up moving the taller canvas a little more to the left, but right now it’s good.

I love that I have such crafty/artistic friends. (Next up, I have to show you all some of the blankets we’ve received!)
