How I hate to see the weekend end. We’ve had a semi-busy, yet fun one. We started out at the Cowboy Mouth concert on Friday night, where we ran into a student Kenny taught last year, and his parents. The kid’s step-dad just happens to work with me…and run the paper. It was fun, though. I shot a few hundred photos, and put 45 up on the website.
We ran a little on Saturday, enjoyed lunch at Westville Pub with several friends, and then came back to the apartment where I tried to hide out in the bedroom for a while. I don’t think I’ve mentioned how we’re trying to decrease our soda intake. It hit me hard yesterday. A few pills (and one soda) later, I was on my way to having a great evening.
Brandon and Betsey came over for dinner (pizza), dessert (just-baked cookies) and drinks (daiquiris and marguaritas). And we just talked. We did take a ride out to look at a home for sale – Kenny and I started looking at houses last week, the day before we found out we’d be paying for braces. But, other than that drive, we didn’t turn the TV on or anything. It was a lot of fun.
Today has been spent running (we’ve got to be ready for next Saturday!), relaxing and cleaning. I’m cleaning our guest-computer-exercise-junk room this month. 95% of the stuff is mine. Not hard to believe. I kind of have a path made out to get into the closet. And my mom is wanting to have a yard sale at some point. The rest goes to Goodwill.
There you have it. Our weekend.
Tomorrow is the dreaded braces day. This time tomorrow, I’ll be full of porcelain and metal. Yuck. There might be photos…then again, maybe it’ll be another year before I allow photos to be taken of me.
