old habits die hard

I’ve got some old habits creeping back into my life. The worst one is the napping in the afternoon. I did it last week and attributed it to being sick. Well I came home from work today around lunchtime (can’t have overtime and I’ve worked over several days this week) and crashed….woke up at 4:30 when the husband came home. Now I’m groggy.

I ran 3.5 miles this afternoon (with the husband) and then we had dinner at a local pizza place, Papa’s Pizza. It’s just down the road from us – maybe 1.5 miles away? It’s actually really good. Their service was great, but paying for our food was a little crazy. It took 15 minutes of standing in a line with people ordering for take-out and others picking up their take-out. Maybe not the best way to get people’s money. But we’ll probably go back again.

I broke my caffeine strike and drank diet Pepsi at dinner tonight. I feel pretty good and am still not buying it to have in the house. I’ve been drinking a ton of water lately. I guess one soda at dinner (out of the house) isn’t toooooo bad.

I have a weekend of running planned. Tomorrow I run 12 miles for training and I’m running the Frostbite 5k on Sunday afternoon.

Tomorrow afternoon is the next Chick Flick club. We’re going to see “He’s Just Not That Into You.” I can’t wait šŸ™‚ The husband is working out at WCU again, so this will be a good way to spend my time.

Sunday evening we’re getting together with an old friend of mine (he was my first “real” boss when I was in college and interning at Square D.) So, we really do have a pretty full weekend planned!

Maybe my nap today wasn’t so bad. I might need another one by tomorrow šŸ™‚

  1. The other night I got home around six & before I knew what was happening Randy was putting me to bed. He said I was mumbling & nodding off at the computer. I slept for 30 minutes & honestly it made all the difference in the world.
I once read that Oprah says that 20 minutes a day gives her optimum energy. So there you go, no guilt at all–you are just recharging!
