On second thought, I could use the winter weather
The other day I had mixed feelings over the winter storm that was headed our way. Today, though, I’m feeling pretty good about it.
You see, we’ll be trapped in our house for a long night and day and possibly part of Sunday. And that will be helpful for me – especially since the school system called us at 5:30 a.m. to let my husband know that schools were out today.
Stupid, stupid automated system that the Buncombe County schools has in place. Normally they call after 6 a.m.
Anyway. The roads were slushy this morning, and now we’re getting rain. We’re expecting a wintry mix followed by freezing rain starting this evening. And when the temperatures are only going to get as high as 32 or 34 (depending on who you check), you can expect a good amount of frozen roads.
Which is why I’m happy. I need sleep. This week has been a long, exhausting week and I’m ready for one night of uninterrupted sleep.
Yeah, we are getting some of that too. We have about an inch, probably had 2 or 3, but the temp at 11 PM is still 33 degrees, so a lot of melting. It is barely flurrying right now. So hopefully it won’t be as bad as they said.
