This is the story about how I fell in love with prAna jeans. Or how I’m not always so fashionable, but when I find something I like, I share the love.

I had heard of prAna before receiving items a couple weeks ago, but I had never tried them. The company began in 1992, creating clothing out of sustainable materials mainly for yoga and climbing. They soon began making items for everyday activities with style, comfort and versatility in mind. Sustainable materials like organic cotton, hemp and recycled poly along with Fair Trade, and Renewable Energy initiatives are just a few of the things that prAna supports.

Moms are busy people. I feel like I’m always moving, whether it’s running errands, working in or out of the home, playing in the floor with the kids or just making dinner. There are some nights I don’t get to sit down and relax until 9 pm and by then I should be heading to bed. Many days I don’t have a chance to change clothes between work and bedtime. All this to say, I like my clothes to be comfortable – and it more than helps if I look nice.

I recently tried prAna’s Ravena Crew Neck (in Gray Indigo) and Kara Jeans in Indigo. It’s not a secret that my current size is not where I want to be, making clothes shopping a little trickier. Also? I normally don’t wear fitted/skinny jeans…like ever.

The shirt is super soft and perfect for fall. I can wear it to work, to lounge around on the weekend, or when I’m out and about on the weekends. I’ve worn it a couple of times in the short time I’ve had it. It’s made of recycled polyester and organic cotton and the colors are so pretty!

The jeans are also so soft, and a little stretchy. Who doesn’t love stretchy jeans! They’re a low rise, and can be worn long or cuffed. I like the cuffed look, and wish I could wear them long, however they are VERY long. I’m 5’3″ and I roll them 3 times to cuff them. I was undecided about the size I should order, and I went with my current size. I probably should have sized down one size, but they’re comfortable. Again these are perfect for the office (if you’re able to go for a more casual look) and excellent for the weekend!

I’ve worn the jeans several times so far – at a conference, playing with my kids, running errands on the weekend and I have plans to wear them to work when I know I can dress down a little more. I’ll be ordering more, for sure.

  1. Style and comfort. These days, I work from home, so I probably lean more to comfort, but it’s nice when I can be seen outside of the house and not look like I just rolled out of bed!

  2. I like the combination of comfort, style and that it looks good on me.
I have found that if it is not comfortable or doesn’t look good on me, I will not wear it .

  3. I’m not the size I want to be right now either, but I don’t have an adorable baby to show for it 🙂 Right now, I’m just trying to find clothes that fit and make me look half way decent.

  4. It has to be comfortable and easy for mom life. 🙂 I like it also to be stylish in the sense that it is timeless and fits well.

  5. Good fit/flattering and comfort is #1 and then I look for something that I love that fits that criteria and never anything too trendy.

  6. I love Prana clothes! Sustainable, ethical, and great for hiking, yoga, and climbing! (And yes, everyday wear too!) The Kara jeans look great 😀

  7. Both – I try look professional at work, but totally comfortable and not fidgeting with my clothes all day!
    Love prAna!

  8. For me, an outfit has to have both style and comfort! If it’s comfy but not attractive, eventually I won’t even wear it around the house. If it’s stylish but uncomfortable, it’ll only see the light of day for very short outings and eventually, not at all. Both make it work for me!

  9. I now look for comfort more than style, but that’s not to say I’m not into being stylish! I’m a sucker for shoes & bags.

  10. I just want to feel my best so whatever it is that particular day- quality, character, or comfort. Everything is fair game.

  11. I look for something that fits well and will last for years to come. I love the top you have! thats been on my wish list from Prana .

  12. There are some styles I like and some I don’t so I try to pick the one’s that I like the look of but also fits me personally, so I guess comfort is what I lean more towards.

  13. I definitely look for something comfortable in a favorite outfit since I have to chase my kids around, but something stylish as well as comfortable is definitely a plus!
