One year old!
Our baby is one year old! (He turned 1 on Friday, but I’ve had no time on the computer!)
One year ago
Friday.
Now for what he’s up to 12 months later….
He wears a number of 18 month clothes (and some 12 month clothes.) He is in a size 4 diaper (still a medium gDiaper) and I estimate he’s between 20 and 21 pounds. Not sure about his length. We’ll find out official stats this week when he goes back to the doctor for his well visit.
He crawls like a champ, and cruises furniture like it’s his job. He’s starting to let go of furniture for brief moments before realizing that he hasn’t quite got the balancing act down.
When somebody laughs, Lucas often tries to copy the laugh, which makes us laugh harder (and him laugh harder.) His fake laugh is pretty hilarious.
He says, “mom, dada, bye, cat, dog, no, uh oh, hi, nigh night (for night night).”
He has started giving “high fives” and he claps a lot. He’s generally a happy baby.
His tenth tooth has now broken through. That is when he is at his most unhappy state. Sleep is still an issue, and a lot of it has to do with all of the teeth (he’s constantly teething!)
He officially likes all foods he’s tried so far (even green beans when we waited a few weeks to try them again.) When he doesn’t want something, he’ll pick it up and drop it over the side of his high chair tray, very carefully. He’ll even say “no” when he’s doing it. (And I’m perfecting keeping a straight face when he does that.) He’s a huge fan of chicken and we introduced eggs more than a week ago. He loves those too. Bananas (in chunks, rather than mashed up) are finally making it into his mouth, rather than onto the floor. And what would baby life be without Cheerios? We love Cheerios in our house!
Our family.
We love watching him play. He’s a huge fan of board books and any toy that plays music. And anything that is red (the red circles in his shape sorter might be his favorite toy ever.) He’ll press buttons on his toys over and over just to hear the songs – and he dances. My one-year-old totally dances (and has for a few months.)
He really is so much fun (except for the hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Those aren’t always a lot of fun.) He is such a happy baby and I hope he stays that way!
Awe! Can’t believe he is a year already!! He is so cute. Bet he will be walking soon. And love that he copies people’s laughs.
