This weekend was my last busy weekend for a while. I’m so grateful that we don’t have anything on our calendars for a while (or anytime in the near future.)

Yesterday I threw a baby shower for one of my best friends. She’s expecting her second girl in January. (Her daughter will be almost 10. I wouldn’t normally do a shower for a second baby, but I think she needed this.) The shower was planned and crafted in a very short amount of time. And I have photos that I need to share.

As soon as the shower was over, the family headed over to Doubletree to grab a race packet for me. We were home for about an hour and then went to a friend’s birthday party. We kept the baby up a little late, in hopes that the time change wouldn’t throw him off too much.

Unfortunately, no afternoon nap, plus staying up late meant he was up a couple of times last night. He tends to do that when he’s super over tired. It worked out well at 5 a.m. because then I was up for my race. I had to leave the house at 6:30 (and the baby and husband were both back to sleep.) I heard the baby then slept til 7:30 – his usual time.

Meanwhile, I ran a 12k race on the Biltmore Estate property. It was a really pretty race, and I hurt from around the half mile point through the finish line. Again, a blog post to come. With a few photos. I ran it with my friend Carol, and we really tried to have fun with it. I think we succeeded.

The rest of the day was spent trying to get *someone* to nap, grocery shopping, cleaning….and so on.

I can’t believe it’s only 9:00. I feel like I fit an entire week’s worth of events into one weekend!

How was your weekend?
