New year, new me. Right? Great, except I still have a morning routine to perfect and getting two children out of the house by 7:15 is no easy task. Many days I’m rushing out the door and I tend to drink my breakfast – some sort of protein shake. Bonus is when I don’t have to make the shake. Another bonus is when the pre-made shake tastes good. Enter Premier Protein® Bananas & Cream.
I opt for shakes for breakfast during the week because they can be quick and I can pack nutrition I need into the drink. It’s also easy for me to drink during my 30 minute drive to work. Extra protein ensures I am not snacking all morning. The Bananas & Cream shakes from Premier Protein have 30 grams of protein and only 1 gram of sugar! I’ve been trying these and alternating them with my normal shakes and I was surprised that the 11 ounce drink can keep me full until I’ve completed my lunch workout. That’s right, I don’t feel the need to snack in the morning.
And speaking of workouts, I’ve been getting 4 out of 5 weekday workouts done during my lunch hour. Since I’ve been on my run streak since the beginning of the year, I am definitely pushing myself a little bit harder during that hour. Some days I’m lifting weights, other days I’m just running or adding another form of cardio to the mix. Either way, it’s a good way to spend my lunch hour. I’m not always extra hungry when I get back to my office and the Premier Protein shakes are great to give me energy I need to power through my afternoon. I keep one of the Bananas & Cream shakes in my work refrigerator just in case.
Taste-wise, I was pleasantly surprised by this shake. It does taste like bananas, but the taste isn’t overpowering or super sweet. It’s just sweet enough. It’s thick, but doesn’t leave an aftertaste. I’m a fan of banana flavors, so this was right up my alley. I’m tempted to add ice and see I like it even better. I love banana milkshakes, and I think this would be PERFECT after a long run! Size-wise, they’re great for the office, in your car or a quick breakfast or snack when you’re at home.
