preparing for baby….through food
We’re in countdown mode now. We know we have x amount of days left – at most. And today I started to feel a bit unprepared….in the food area.
I went to Sam’s Club to get some stuff for a class reunion picnic that I’m going to tomorrow, and by the time I was done, I had bought enough spaghetti sauce, cereal and granola bars to last us weeks. A girl can live on cereal and granola bars, right?
I don’t even know why I’m that concerned. A friend has organized more friends to bring us meals and it isn’t like we don’t live around the corner from my mom and my grandma – both of whom have been feeding us pretty regularly this summer. (Especially since my aunt moved in with my grandma and cooks all of the time!) But here I am, planning out our meals for next week so I can grocery shop tonight, and pick up even more extra food items “just in case.”
And I haven’t mentioned here, but I have ingredients to make six whole wheat pizza crusts to freeze. We haven’t made pizza in forever, but I’ll be prepared (and I’ll probably have them made and in the freezer before I go to bed tonight.)
So….pizza, spaghetti, cereal and granola bars. I guess that means we’re set to have a baby. And hopefully we’ll survive on carbs.
Homemade pizza sounds yummy! What I hear you describing is a little nesting š Get ready, my friend – baby’s gonna be here soon!
