a pretty great day

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have noticed that yesterday was not such a great day in my little world. It started with a phone call (no bad news, just an unnecessary negative attitude I could have done without.) And it continued throughout the day – almost finishing with a phone call from the less-than-helpful insurance adjuster. The negative attitude continued at work, and by the time I got home, Kenny could sense that I just needed to be by myself for a bit.

This morning, I intentionally let my phone go to voicemail. I vowed not to let anyone drag me down today. So far, it’s worked.

The rest of the day has been pretty fabulous. My doctor’s appointment went well, and I was even used to test out their new ultrasound machine. (Pictures and that story later.) We weren’t expecting any more ultrasounds, so this was a fun surprise.

The doctor has been paid in full for the baby’s delivery. We’re waiting on an invoice from the hospital, but the actual doctor portion is paid off as of today. (They put us on a payment plan at the beginning of the year, and we’ve been paying them monthly.) I’m happy that’s out of the way.

Matt Nathanson’s CD, “Modern Love,” came out today. My copy should be at my house when I get home. I listened to it online last week – over and over and over. I can’t wait to listen to it on the plane ride to New York this weekend.

The Type-A Conference begins Thursday. I’m only going to the business portion of it, and I cannot wait. I had such a great time last September, and I’m sad that I can’t go to the entire conference. (But I’m also going to my cousin’s wedding this weekend, which is going to be FABULOUS.)

And finally, I have ceramics class tonight. Oh, and “The Voice” is also on tonight.

It’s a good day.
