I just finished painting the kitchen ceiling. Many thanks to our friend Mai who talked to another friend (and also a painting expert) and told me to get a roller with a deeper nap. Yep. I had no idea what that was, until I saw it in Lowe’s.
I spent over 4 hours painting 2/3 of the ceiling with a paint brush. I finished the other third of the ceiling this afternoon in 30 minutes with the roller.
Yipppeeeeeee!!!!!!
The kitchen ceiling was dingy and beige. Parts were dirty brown. It was gross. The ceiling was probably stained in large part from being covered up with drop ceiling and a fluorescent light for who knows how many years.
But today we have a white ceiling.
I don’t really have any before/after pics to show you. I meant to take a picture mid-painting but I had a very sore neck and was frustrated.
Next up? The walls! I bought the paint today (Arctic Blue) and will start taping the kitchen at some point today. The husband may have a snow day tomorrow (because it’s REALLY SNOWING) and has offered to do some painting if I’m working and he’s off. Otherwise, I’ll start painting when he’s at his book club tomorrow night.
Yay for the white ceiling!
