project closet makeover
Our hall closet has been in need of organization since we moved in. Since I had the day off, I decided to tackle it. Little did I know that it would take very little time to organize!
I picked up a couple of baskets at Target a few weeks ago (on clearance – they were $3.24 per basket) and planned on using them on the shelf. When I cleared everything out of the closet, I discovered painting tools, lots of gloves, hats, a few empty boxes, a bottle of fabric softener, umbrellas, a wicker planter (something a plant came in last year) and a few other items – all on the top shelf. (When the husband saw the baskets, he realized I had been hiding them from him….in my car. At least they’re being used now!)
Before pictures of the closet.
The painting supplies were placed downstairs in the garage, trash was thrown away, and one basket was devoted to gloves and hats. The other basket is for umbrellas. And if we have other items that have to go into the closet, we can use the basket. I’m hoping we can keep it clean.
After.
(From left to right, that’s Chloe’s cat carrier, our tv trays we use occasionally, Chloe’s food and all of our reusable bags in one large bag.)
I also filled Chloe’s bin with a bag of food today. As I was doing something in the kitchen, I caught her eating the food out of the bin and got this photo. It wasn’t until I downloaded it did I realize I caught her mid-bite. 🙂
Oh, and after another failed attempt at ceiling fan installation, I called an electrician. The fan is being installed next week, hopefully. And he can hopefully fix the ceiling box that we managed to uninstall and not get back in. Awesome.
nice job, my bedroom closet always seems so cluterred, even a day after I “organize” it! Like the basket idea up top!
haha we have those same tv trays. My parents have to keep my kitties (they can’t live at our apt) food in a lock top container because they’ve learned how to open the closet door and get the lid off. Dorks.
That turned out fantastic! I really need to tackle my closets.
That last shot is great.
