A project a month
This popped into my head last week. I don’t even know what I was thinking about first, but then I gave myself another goal for this year. A project a month. More likely a craft project a month.
(That photo? It’s a peek at what I’m working on at the moment.)
I would love to complete 12 craft projects this year. I’m well on my way with scrapbooking (I’ve managed to get holiday photos and journaling into my 2013 book!) So that might be one project. I want to complete a blanket for someone (I’ve had the fabric for roughly two years) and possibly start a quilt (using old running shirts from high school and college, as a jumping off point.)
That’s three projects already and I have other crafty ideas floating around in my head. Four, if you include what I’m working on in that picture.
Elise did something similar with materials and I loved reading all of the various projects she came up with. I don’t know that I could come up with THAT many things, so I think the one project per month is a good start for me. And I’m fine with repeating materials. This is a goal to get projects completed, not necessarily experiment with various materials.
What kinds of goals/projects have you come up with for the new year? Do you tend to reach your goals, if you’ve made similar goals in the past?
I create and sew for a living, so my house turns into the Cobbler’s house – no shoes for the kids because I’m busy with them at work. The last thing I want to do when I get home is craft or sew! But this is a great way to reach your goal.
I would like to get more into crafting, but I just don’t know where I’d find the time. I am constantly busy with stuff for the boys, but I would love to get them involved and get more projects done!
I love crafting! I have a friend that sews and crochets a lot of her children’s clothing. I have always admired her because I seriously don’t know if I could do it myself. I love making decor for the home but am not that savvy when it comes to making anything that involves a needle!
we do crafts weekly. or the kids do. i’d like to do MORE!
I don’t really have craft goals. I just sort of get inspired and go with it.
Crafty people have better time management skills than me! I am too busy sitting here on the computer to be that productive.
thanks!
Mitch
When I get the stuff out of my storage unit, I am going to break open my Silhouette machine again! I want to make decorations in time for Valentine’s Day!
It’s great to have a goal! I can’t wait to see what it is you’re making. I love to knit, but never make the time to anymore.
A project a month is a great idea! I wish I was more crafty but it’s hard to find the time with two boys (one of them a newborn). This year, we are really focusing on living healthier and paying off debts.
A project each month is a great idea! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
I used to do crafts all the time, like every day. I even did them along with the kids, but when they left for college and I started blogging…. it kinda fell by the wayside. I miss it!
I’ve gotten into doing more crafts lately. I’d love to learn to knit or crochet
I love crafting and I even tried scrapbooking for a little bit. It just seemed to get out of hand for me! I am lucky to have a friend who creates scrapbook templates in the books and now I just stick in the pictures š
What a great goal! I don’t know if I could do that many. Maybe one a season for me!
That is awesome and I can’t wait to see all of your projects. I wish I was more crafty.
I have only one goal for 2014: buy a boat. LOL it’s been my goal for the past ten years and probably won’t happen, but it’s nice to have a financial goal!
I’m a crafter and love to rubber stamp and make paper crafts. Valentine’s is always a fun time around my house.
Some of projects Id love to do this year is read 1 book or more per month. Get a pedicure every month, and craft something with my girls each month.
What a great idea! I think it’s fun to have a goal of a project a month, it helps ensure you focus your energy on getting them done.
That’s a wonderful idea!! I should try to clean out a closet every couple months or get rid of excess stuff.. Cant’ wait to see the project~
I would love to do more craft projects this year too!
Can’t wait to see what you’re working on. I’m always looking for new projects š
I definitely want to do more crafts. It is fun to do with the kids and great content for my blog.
What a fun idea! I’ve got so many things already started and even more ideas. I love almost any kind of craft!!
What a fun goal! I love that you are breaking down your ultimate goal – of completing more craft projects – into easier, bite-sized goals. Good luck!
This is such a great idea! I am going to have to keep this in mind for next year š
