Father’s Day is less than three weeks away. Did you realize that? THREE weeks. May just flew by, and here we are. About to celebrate the dads in our lives. I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of hard working father figures in my life – including my husband. When you have hard working dads in your life, they deserve gifts that can hold up for a long time.

I like to buy my husband things he can really use for Father’s Day and Dickies makes clothes that he can wear to work hard and play hard. They offer a great line of clothing that can get dirty, and will hold up for the long haul. Both of my boys deserve quality items.

A few items I’m considering for him: 

Shorts. My husband takes our son out on hikes a few times a month. (About once a month, my daughter and I join the boys for a shorter hike.) The hikes can be up mountains (think Mount Mitchell – the highest point east of the Mississippi River) or just through mountains, over creeks and involving a lot of climbing – and mud. I think he’ll really love these cargo shorts. They’re lightweight, and perfect for summertime. They have plenty of room to keep his iPhone and keys, and extra pockets for the rocks my son likes to collect along their adventures. 

Shirts. Who doesn’t need new shirts? Seriously. I feel like I’m always on the hunt for shirts that look nice and can be worked in, but are also suitable for weekend outings. The short sleeve Heavyweight Tee fits all of our criteria for a good t-shirt. It can be worn as an undershirt, but is thick enough that it can be worn by itself. It’s tagless. And it comes in more than a dozen colors. (Who here finds an item she/he loves, and then purchases it in every color?) 

And then there’s outerwear. We went hiking at Grandfather Mountain a few weeks ago – and there was a 10-degree temperature change. At night, it can be COLD (we do live in the mountains. Our weather can be a little crazy.) We are planning on hiking and camping this summer, and my husband is going to need a jacket that isn’t too heavy, can hold up well and is waterproof. (My husband can totally wear this to work!)
