race plans

Obviously, I’m not running a race any time soon. I mean, who am I kidding? Two miles feels like a half marathon (or at least a tough 10k) nowadays. I have the worst time breathing, and when I run now it’s hard for me to believe that I ran even a half marathon last September.

So it might be a little shocking – or at least preliminary – to know that I think I have my next marathon scheduled (at least in my head.) And half marathon. At our Oscars party last night, a friend and I were talking about running (and how I don’t run with her anymore. Sorry, Suzanne.) And she reminded me that I once said I would run Nike Women’s Marathon with her. She just happens to be running it in October(?) 2012 – and that just happened to be the race I thought would be my next full marathon. So I have time to train.

But first, I think I’d like to do the Country Music Half Marathon next year. Notice I’m giving myself some time to have a baby and start gradually training? (Remember also, I said Bob the stroller and I were going to become best friends.) CMM is at the end of April, so I think that’ll be plenty of time for me to train.

And way, way into the future, I want to do the Goofy Challenge at Disney. A half and a full. Maybe in 2013? We shall see.

I’m excited. I have running plans. They may be long-term, but at least I have plans.

  1. Okay. You just made me very happy. I will always throw my name into the hat for NWM as it’s just over the hill from me – so I hope to see you there in October 2012. And? After running the WDW Marathon this past January we decided that in 2013 we were going to do Goofy! You should *totally* set your sites on that! *grin*

  2. Yay! Now I’m REALLY going to do the NWM – probably with TNT since that’s the best way to guarantee our spots. And Margie will be glad to hear you’re doing Nashville – let’s make it like old times and all go together?
