I never got around to this last weekend (and didn’t really get the photos until Friday sometime.) Last weekend, Kenny and Jason both ran the Greenway Challenge 10k (there was a 5k version, as well.) The race was sponsored by Pisgah Brewing. If anyone knows Asheville, the city has it’s share of breweries. I think we’re up to 8 or 9? The best races (for beer drinkers) are the ones sponsored by a brewery 🙂

That morning was my 20-mile run. I then had a baby shower to attend and the race to show up for. I wanted to take photos and show my support for the guys!

This is the first race in I don’t know how long that I was a spectator and not a participant. Really. You guys just stand around and wait for us to finish? How boring. Don’t get me wrong….I think spectators are important to the race (the runners need the support!) But….how boring….

Jason’s first comment when I found him after he finished was, “that was hard.” Welcome to Asheville….the land of mountains. It’s hard to run around here. He also had never run 6 miles. I think the most he runs is 4. So, yes, it was a little harder for him.

Kenny finished his race in 52:18. Here he is finishing:

Jason finished in 56:47. Here is his finish:

The boys each got two free pints of beer after the race. Here they are before:

And with their “reward” for running:

Of course, I had to get in on the pictures:

On another running note, I ran 14 miles yesterday in 2 hours, 33 minutes. It was hard and my legs are sore today. I have one more week to taper down and then I run my marathon! I’m pretty excited. I am planning one more marathon in June and then I’m going to switch to swimming and less running for a few months. I think I may need a break!
