Football season is winding down, and we’re gearing up for the big game – and all of the fun snacks to go along with that night! We sometimes venture out to a friend’s house that evening, but with two kids (and a set bedtime for one of them), we’ll probably stay home this year and host a few friends. We’ll be celebrating the game with good food – and things are about to get even better with RAGÚ® Pizza Quick Traditional Sauce!

We love making homemade pizza, and I recently found the smaller pizza crusts that are perfect for the individual size pizza. (Bonus: my son likes to challenge himself in eating his entire pizza.) Topped with cheese, RAGÚ® Pizza Quick Traditional Sauce and any toppings you desire, dinner is served quickly. Creating a fun football shape out of pepperoni is quite fun and festive, too! And this is such an easy recipe

What you need:

The individual crusts (I found a 3-pack)
1 jar of  RAGÚ® Pizza Quick Traditional Sauce
Shredded cheese
1 pack of pepperoni
Any additional toppings you desire
pizza dough (the kind from the can – keep reading below for a recipe you’ll use the rest of the dough for!)

Spread a layer of sauce on your pizza crust. Top with cheese. Layer your pepperoni in the shape of a football. With my crust, I used 9 slices of pepperoni. With small pieces of the pizza dough, make the laces of the football on your pepperoni. Bake at 425 degrees for 9-11 minutes.

I found everything I needed at Walmart – the sauce can be found in the pasta and tomato sauce aisle. It was really easy to swing by and get all of the ingredients one morning before work.

And right now you can find codes on specially marked packages of RAGÚ® products and Walmart, earn punches on a virtual punch card and redeem for prizes. (And be sure to check out more game day recipes!

For our football fun, I’m also making pizza sticks. These are such a great snack – or side dish with your pizza!

What you need:

1 can of pizza dough (any brand)
1 jar of  RAGÚ® Pizza Quick Traditional Sauce
Parmesan cheese
Olive oil

Lightly grease a baking sheet. Roll the pizza dough out on the baking sheet, but don’t stretch it too thin to the sides. There’s no need for a thin layer. Brush olive oil over the dough. Sprinkle the dough with parmesan cheese. Spread RAGÚ® Pizza Quick Traditional Sauce across the layer of dough. Bake at 400 degrees for 9-11 minutes. Cut the layer into breadsticks, and use any remaining RAGÚ® Pizza Quick Traditional Sauce as a dipping sauce!

These pizza sticks are also great the next day as a snack. (IF you have any left over!) They’re so quick to make, and my kids LOVE them. We’ll be making these often.

Pizza, chips and pizza bread – what more could you need for game day?

How do you use RAGÚ® Pizza Quick Traditional Sauce? While I do love making pizza with it (of course), I’m a fan of trying different snacks out with the sauce!

  1. We use Ragu pizza sauce all the time! We tend to kick it up a little bit by adding some fresh garlic just to make it a little more Italian! 😉

  2. I’m all about the snacks on game day! I may not know who’s playing, but I know what I’ll be eating. These breadsticks sound awesome!

  3. Omg just love the pizza!!!!! I make a very similar pizza but I use mozzarella cheese for the laces. I will have to use Ragu next time

  4. Pure genius! Those pizza sticks are so easy to make and totally delicious too! I will include them in my menu for game day!
