relaxing weekend
It really has been a relaxing weekend. I can’t remember the last time we spent a weekend like this.
The in-laws are visiting, and we started our day off with breakfast and a trip to the Farmer’s Market. We got lunch at the mall (the Biltmore Mall, so there were very few people) and spent some time at home. This afternoon my mom came over and helped find where our air filter for the heating/cooling was. You’d never guess by looking at the furnace, that it was in a spot at the bottom of the furnace.
Then we split up. The girls went to Target and the boys went to Lowe’s. The girls came home with a rug (for the dining room), new pillows for the couch and lots of cool napkins and napkin rings from Pier 1. We got the rings for 58 cents and the napkins for 78 cents a piece. Crazy. I also scored some way cool wine glasses that have red and green in the bottom. I’ll save those for next year (set of 4 was $6.)
The boys came home with a new air filter.
I made dinner tonight – spaghetting with MEATBALLS. I’ve never made meatballs before, and I used my mom’s recipe. They were pretty awesome. My mom came over for dinner (with Oliver and Sophie) and it was a great meal!!
We’re relaxing the rest of the night. Maybe a movie and I’ll work on a blanket that I need to finish before March.
The real beauty of this weekend is I also have Monday off 🙂
Sounds like your are really having a wonderful weekend. Please give our best to Kenny’s parents. Love, Aunt Linda
