rock star
Kenny’s computer has been making noises for months – a loud whirring noise from one of the fans (and not the easy fan on the back of the computer – the CPU fan.) I ordered the part (finally) and was going to have a friend help replace it. I’m not sure why I never have any confidence in myself when it comes to computers. I mean, I majored in Computer Science. Why wouldn’t I know how to do it? People didn’t try to copy my work for nothing, you know.
Well, out of boredom this evening, I decided to take the beast on myself.
I totally replaced the CPU fan. The computer even restarted faster than it normally does. The real test will be to see if it makes any noise in the next couple of hours.
I wonder if this is what a rock star feels like after he/she has performed an awesome show? Because I think I totally feel like one.
Congrats. Changing CPU fan is always fun. Did you ground yourself?? !!!!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
I was so grounded. It was awesome š
And off carpet?
I was sitting on the carpet, if that helps.
Oh, and the fan ended up not even being the problem. I may figure it out one day, but at least Kenny has a new fan.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH . what I meant was sitting on carpet can mess up your hard drive. Night. You are hearing what kind of noise? Could be power supply fan. Is it a clicking noise?
Note: I took computer repair electronics in hs. Don’t tell anyone š
I took a computer repair class in college. I shouldn’t have a problem figuring this out, but it’s driving me crazy. I’ve ruled out the fans. I think the harddrive might be going. Not sure. That computer will be the next one replaced. It’s a few years old.
No parts hit the carpet in the repair process, so I think we’re safe š And, Kenny’s been working endlessly on his computer, trying to beat my high score on Word Challenge (facebook game.)
