The weekend of no real plans continued today. It mostly consisted of some shelf painting and a movie. The closets in our house are not a standard size (two are several inches too short in the width, and the third bedroom has a normal sized closet, but the door is a standard door, and the closet opening doesn’t allow for full use of the entire space. We’re in a constant battle with the closets.) So. While we bought an organizer for the nursery, we’re having to make additional shelves. They should be installed this week – and THEN we can fill them with baby stuff, and reclaim our rooms downstairs!
We saw ‘Horrible Bosses’ this afternoon, per the husband’s request. Parts were pretty funny, and a good portion of the movie was somewhat offensive (for me, at least.) All in all, we had a good time.
And it rained while we were in the movie. As I type, it’s thundering outside. We need the rain, so I’m definitely not complaining. Every time it rains, it buys me a day of not having to water the garden!
After dinner (of salads) tonight, we drove over to McDonald’s to take advantage of their buy one, get one free milkshakes (all. month. long!) It only cost us $2.02 for two shakes – and the strawberry shake was just as I remembered it from 20 years ago. (I definitely prefer Cookout’s shakes to McD’s, but Cookout is in the opposite direction, and a little more difficult to get to. Plus, they’re not as cheap as the BOGO offer!) Zaxby’s opens next to our house tomorrow. We actually have it written down as one of our dinner’s this week. And they have a birthday cake milkshake. Maybe we’ll go there on Thursday for the husband’s birthday….
I washed (and folded most of) four loads of laundry this weekend. That doesn’t include sheets, which will be done tomorrow. I’m a little scared of adding a baby’s wardrobe into the mix. I’m definitely grateful for our new(er) front-loader washing machine now.
Chloe and I took a post-lunch nap this afternoon, before the movie. I wonder how I can get my boss to allow that after lunch during the work-week? Because it truly helps with productivity…and the whole staying awake after lunch thing.
Next weekend won’t be as low-key. Bele Chere is next weekend, and there are two bands I want to see, but one I’m DEFINITELY seeing – Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers. I believe that will be McLittle’s final concert before he arrives. It’s a good one to end the pregnancy with. Right now, I know I’ll be meeting up with one out-of-town friend, and I’m hoping my mom will accompany me Saturday afternoon. (Husband is the Bele Chere grinch. I don’t even try to force him to go.)
so. How was your weekend??
mmmm Zaxby’s!! although I wish you hadn’t mentioned the Mickey D’s BOGO! 😛
